The Oranjemund Town Council the custodian of the Oranjemund Diamond Festival held the Investment Promotion Conference under the Theme “Creating A Sustainable Future Through Economic Diversification” on Wednesday, 02nd August 2023 at the Recreational Club in Oranjemund.

The Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Honourable Emma Theofelus delivered the Keynote address at the conference, whereby she highlighted on areas for digital transformation which Oranjemund can consider to invest in, that can support ICT entrepreneurship as well as increase digital literacy that will be beneficial to the youth of Oranjemund as well as across the country.

Approximately 100 invited guests and investors attended the conference that covered many topics of investment interests mainly diversifying the local economy through industrial development and restructuring it through forward planning of the town into a ‘smart city concept.

The conference captured presentations of various topics and interactive dialogues that will lead the town’s future development and expand capacity to address current and future development challenges while placing Oranjemund competitively at national and regional context.
