The festival kicked off with the first event of the Diamond festival “My Oranjemund Photography Exhibition” which took place on Tuesday, 01st August 2023 at Berronies under the Theme “Creating A Sustainable Future Through Economic Diversification”.

This event was proudly sponsored by OMDis Town Transformation Agency with the aim to give Oranjemunders an opportunity to share their photos of their favourite visiting spots in town, as it is a celebration of Oranjemund’ s heritage and everything we have achieved since opening to the world. The event was a great success, thank you to all the Oranjemunders for participating and being part of the Diamond festival. Council would like to give special thanks to OMDIS for all their efforts and support. The Oranjemund Town Council and the ODF local organizing committee is looking forward to more exciting collaborations for the hosting of the 8th edition of ODF 2024. The Deputy Mayor, HW. Cllr Sekunda Tsheya Petrus delivered the keynote address on behalf of the Mayor of Oranjemund, HW, Cllr Elias Kasemba at the event.
